Sümi Hoho welcomes recognition of Frontier Nagaland Territory

Calls for inclusive governance, balanced development and continued unity

Zunheboto, February 12 (MExN): The Sümi Hoho has on February 12 welcomed the historic recognition and announcement of the Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT), describing the development as an “important milestone in addressing the long-standing aspirations and concerns of the people of Eastern Nagaland.”

In a press update issued by the President of the Sümi Hoho, it asserted that the formation of the FNT represents not merely an administrative arrangement but a meaningful step toward inclusive governance, balanced development, and equitable attention to regions that have earnestly sought recognition of their unique circumstances. 

At the same time, the Hoho expressed its sincere hope that this initiative will usher in a new era of progress, stability, and opportunity for the people of the eastern districts.

Likewise, it opined that every progressive step taken in the interest of justice, unity, and development strengthens the collective future of Nagaland as a whole. 

“While celebrating this achievement, we urge all stakeholders to work in a spirit of cooperation, mutual respect, and shared responsibility so that the intended benefits truly reach the grassroots,” stated the press release.

Furthermore, it maintained that this milestone must serve as a foundation for harmony and collective advancement, ensuring that the broader fabric of Naga unity remains strong and resilient. 

The Hoho commended the leaders, civil society organizations, and all individuals who pursued this cause with patience, perseverance, and democratic conviction.

It also reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and the inclusive progress of Nagaland.
