A District Level Social Audit Public Hearing on MGNREGA under Dimapur district was held at DRDA Conference Hall, Dimapur on Saturday for three blocks including Aghunaqa, Kuhuboto and Niuland.
The District Resource Persons and Village Resource Persons made presentations for 11 villages followed by reading out of resolutions made during Gram Sabha by the respective VDB Secretaries.
During the hearing, various issues such as multiple job card holders, non-update of job cards, no photos on job cards, blurred photos, absence of detailed transparency board at works sites, mismatch in amounts sanctioned etc were read out as detected. However, all the issues were discussed during the Gram Sabha and accordingly resolutions were made to rectify and to take precautionary measures to avoid such issues in the future.
The public hearing reaffirmed the resolutions of the Gram Sabha and resolved to: update and refine the job cards; to conduct the Rozgar Diwas at least once in three months; to put up detailed citizen information board; to maintain three stages of photographs; to hold Gram Sabha meeting regularly; to avoid project diversion, to maintain the panchayat documents properly etc.
Project Director, DRDA Dimapur, H. Atokhe Aye who chaired the public hearing appealed the BDOs to properly monitor implementation of the projects and also urged the VDBs to be sincere in implementation of the projects.
