Social audit & public hearing under MGNREGA held in Mon

Mon, October 6 (MExN): The social audit district level public hearing under MGNREGA for Mon district was held on October 4 at Resource Centre, DRDA Mon Town.

According to a DIPR report, EAC Mon HQ, Vitoka Yepthomi, who was the independent observer during the hearing, said that State Audit Unit (SAU) is there facilitate the implementing agencies. He requested the SAU team to add positive remarks in their report to encourage the villagers.

Vepo Keyho, State Resource Person SAU, Nagaland gave an introduction to what social audit is and what district level public hearing is all about including general issues that need to be tackled for better implementation of the MGNREGA scheme.

The social audit findings of villages namely Nganching, Changlangshu Changsa, Changlanshu, Changlo, Manyakshu, Meingchangla, Aopao, Langmeang, Sowa and Sowa Changleunder Tobu and Aboi blocks which were audited was reviewed. 

It was also discussed that Rozar Diwas under Mon district will be held every second Friday of the month in every village. Temjen Longchar, Project Officer DRDA, Mon chaired the programme.
