Social Media: The New Ruler of Society?

In the present scenario, many have started to address everything through social media instead of approaching the government through proper channels. Every nation has a different form of government, and the people are controlled or disciplined accordingly. Each government has various departments, and each department has its own way of administering issues that we should follow.

As our parents and grandparents entered modernization many years ago, they have been practicing the system of addressing issues through proper channels. It was only after bribery practices began that money started to rule over the government.

The present generation is hooked on modern gadgets and influenced by money. We’re so glued to our screens that we easily trust viral videos without thinking twice. In a world where anyone can spread misinformation, many of us believe what we see without taking the time to check if it’s true.

We're often so absorbed in our gadgets that we neglect to teach our children the importance of following proper government procedures. Many of us are aware that we should file an FIR at the nearest police station when an incident occurs, but we seldom understand that there are different departments to address different issues through the appropriate channels according to the case.

When witnessing an incident, our first instinct is often to record a video and make it go viral, rather than addressing the situation through the proper channels. While Article 19(1)(a) of the Indian Constitution grants us the right to freedom of speech and expression, this freedom comes with responsibility. If justice is delayed or denied, we have the right to raise our voices, even through recorded videos. However, it is crucial to remember that we must never take the law into our own hands. Our actions should always support justice, not undermine it.

In conclusion, while social media has transformed the way we communicate and share information, it is crucial to remember the importance of proper channels and systems in addressing societal issues. Encouraging critical thinking and responsible usage of social media among the younger generation can help create a more informed and balanced society. We must strive to uphold the values of justice and accountability, ensuring that technology serves as a tool for positive change rather than a means of spreading misinformation.
