Dimapur, February 9 (MExN): The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) today charged the State Government over the events arising out of election to urban local bodies (ULBs) and said that the “current social unrest situation” in Nagaland is solely the “responsibility and failure” of the government and the state machineries.
The government’s failure to “address and reason to the demand and appeal” of the Tribal Hohos on ULB elections resulted in the current sequence of unfortunate events, NSF implied in press statement by its President Subenthung Kithan and General Secretary Boveio Poukai Duo.
In this connection, the Federation strongly demanded that the State Government should “take moral responsibility and listen to the voice of the people.” “Concede to the demands of the demands of the general public so as to restore normalcy and in delivering justice," it said.
The apex Naga Students’ organisation also appealed for allowing Human Resource Departments such as School Education, Higher Education, Higher Technical, NBSE and SCERT to “function normally as study materials and uniforms are to be distributed with the starting of academic sessions and examinations are to be held shortly.”
