Kohima, October 15 (MExN): The Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) has informed all the villages/units under its jurisdiction that there will be a social work on October 22 before noon. The presidents and colleagues of the villages/units have been directed to mobilize their members/volunteers and start the work under their respective villages.
In view of the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) Silver Jubilee scheduled to be held at Kigwema village, the SAYO further reminded the villages on the National Highway not to keep anything on the highway roadside that will obstruct the passage or free movement of vehicles. A press release from SAYO Action Committee convenor, Zehoto Kikhi and social & cultural secretary, Zopovil Zao directed anybody keeping anything or encroaching on the Highway road to clear the same on or before October 21. “Therefore, on October 22, 2016, if any material or things laying on the Highway road obstructing the movement of vehicles, SAYO volunteers will take its own action against the defaulters and will not held responsible for any lost or damage of any material/thing,” the press release stated.
Meanwhile, the organization informed the general public that it welcomes everybody to come and have picnic/party/fun etc. anytime and enjoy the peace and scenic beauty of its area, but warned that any individual/group/party found polluting the spot/area by throwing wastes around and disturbing the peaceful environment will be penalized. In this regard, SAYO appealed to whoever comes for picnic/party etc. in its jurisdiction to be cautious about cleanliness and pollution.
