Social worker murdered

Kohima, June 21 (MExN): Social worker and former contestant of the Kohima Municipal Council elections was found murdered near the Chumukedima Police Training Center early this morning. Family sources revealed that Late Lhoubeizotou Vincent Dzuvichu who was traveling with his eldest son received a call in his mobile at about six o’clock yesterday evening at 7th Mile on his way to Kohima. After talking for a few minutes, Vincent turned back to Dimapur. Parking his car near Deluxe Point, Dimapur, he asked his son to wait for some time and went towards Hong Kong Market to meet the person.

When Vincent did not return for a long time, the family members alerted the other family members, but the very next day the police found his body. It is thought that Vincent was murdered with sharp iron rods and knives as his whole body including his face had multiple cut marks.

While the family of Late Vincent is at a loss to understand the motive behind the gruesome murder, the police too had no concrete leads or answers and investigations are underway. Meanwhile several NGOs have demanded the law enforcement agencies to investigate into the gruesome murder of late Vincent and award befitting punishment. Strongly condemning the barbaric and the most gruesome murder, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio assured that the government would do its best to book the culprits.

His moral remains reached here at his Agri-Forest residence at around 2 PM and he was laid to rest at a funeral which took place at 5 PM with large number of public including various legislatures, high ranking civil and police officials attending it. His mortal remains were finally taken to his native L Khel, Kohima Village for burial.
