Sumi Officers’ Union Dimapur on Saturday celebrated 25 years of its existence at NER Agri Expo site, 4th Mile Dimapur with Minister for Roads & Bridges, Y. Vikheho Swu as the chief guest.
Vikheho told the officers that as bureaucrats and technocrats they have a great responsibility towards the progress and development of the society. “Politicians are decision makers but you are the ones who give shape and design to the decisions and so you have a huge responsibility,” he apprised them.
The minister also discouraged the chief guest culture stating that the trend was not going to take the Naga people anywhere. “If chief guest culture was to lead Nagas to the path of progress and prosperity then, we would have achieved so much through it,” he added.
Vikheho also stressed on reviving Mithun rearing, planting more trees, working towards clean election and developing service sector on a higher degree.
He called upon the members of SOUD to retrospect and introspect as well as to forgive misdeeds of one another during jubilee celebration.
Parliamentary Secretary for Justice & Law and SIRD, Er. Picto Shohe and MLA and Chairman NIDC Ltd, Tovihoto Ayemi also attended the programme.
