Kohima, November 11 (MExN): Southern Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (SAGOK) held its annual general conference on November 10 at Kidima Village, Kohima.
Menukhol John, Principal Secretary, School Education and SCERT who was the main Speaker called upon the officers to not forget the struggles and sacrifices of our parents who have helped and nurtured them to be officers today, stated a press release from SAGOK President Nosazol Charles and General Secretary Shurhovol Naleo.
“Officers should know the responsibilities towards their official works and not the other social obligations. That in turn will contribute to the society,” he asserted.
Speaking on the role of an officer, he said, “one must be an officer whom your colleagues doesn’t want you to retire or is fondly remembered even after retirement. That can be earned by an officer who is dedicated and who knows his subject matter. “
Menukhol pointed out that quality education is the need of the hour and as officers one should be far sighted and plan for the coming generation by providing good education.
He further suggested development models for villages citing instances of having porper parking space, developing a system of disposing wastes by educating villagers to be more accommodative in providing more space for public utilities among others.
The officer also pointed out that school dropout rate is very high in Nagaland which needs redressal.
He later released the census book of SAGOK.
Earlier, the conference was chaired by the President Nosazol Charles Chaya and welcome address was delivered by Dr. Kedise Pucho, President, KGOK
The Conference was hosted by the Kidima Gazetted Officers Krotho (KGOK) and participated by gazetted Officers from 12 villages of Southern Angami Region. All frontal organisation office bearers of Southern Angami area including the Angami Gazetted Officers Krotho (AGOK), NAGOK, office bearers’ graced the occasion.
The invocation and benediction prayers were pronounced by Kehovi Tase, Travelling Pastor, Japfuphiki Baptist Church Council and Rev Keholeshu Tepa, Sr Pastor, Baptist Church Kidima respectively.
Shurhovol Naleo, Secretary SAGOK presented a report highlighting the activities of SAGOK for the last three years and Audit report was also given by the Convenor, Audit Committee Vikho Motonyu.
New Office Bearers were also elected with Kevithuto Sophie, Assistant Inspector General of Police (Supply) as the next President to lead the SAGOK team. Vote of thanks was delivered by Nosezole Seleyi who is also the Women Coordinator, SAGOK.
