Speech of Hozheto Z. Chophi, Ato Kilonser, NPGN-NNC-N/A on celebration of Naga Independence Day on 14th Aug 2016
My Dear Nagas, On this day the 14th of Aug 2016, observing the Historic Day of Naga Independence Day, The NPGN-NNC-N/A, hoisting the Flag of RAINBOW designed by Almighty God the Symbol of embodiment of God, reiterates and reaffirmed to uphold the YEHZABO OF NAGALAND and to safeguard the Legacy of our forefathers declaring Nagaland as a free Nation.
On this Historic Day we solemnly acknowledge that sovereignty over the Land and the people belong to Almighty God alone who sustains our lives throughout the year of trial and
1. Reaffirmed the Nagas Plebiscite of 1951 and
2. To abide by the Great Proclamation of "NAGALAND FOR CHRIST" as Resolved and proclaimed in TATAR HOHO which was held on 2nd Feb to 28th Feb 1958 at the vicinity of GHOKIMI village now under Zunheboto Dist.
3. To stand and fight for Nagas self determination through Democratic Rights and non-violence. The Nagas are also inspired by the ideology and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, The Father of the Nation to fight for ones Right.
As Nagaland for Christ is our slogan I implore all believers to join hands together and fight for our deliverance as God alone can make unmake or reshape any Nation. I call upon Godly people to raise their voice as we have seen that God never allows ungodly people to lead his children or a Nation.
It is to be noted that my Government appreciate the sensational 3rd August 2015 Frame work Agreement and assures that no attempt will be make to antagonize the process of hard earned political solution of the Naga Nation. In this context I would like to reproduce some worth mentioning resolutions passed during the lifetime of Late Asu Isak Chishi Swu and Mr. Muivah Honourable Ato kilonser. The documentation of Resolutions which is Considered as National political Document were as follows;
1. The unalterable historical facts stands that Nagaland had never been a part of India or any other country and a compromise of rights would do wrong to Nagaland. Therefore the National Assembly hereby reaffirmed that the sovereignty of Nagaland is NOT NEGOTIABLE.
2. Nagaland is dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ whereas the evil forces are also active in human affairs. The objective of NAGALAND FOR CHRIST would be attained when the political Freedom of the Country is securely safeguarded. In pursuance of the truth the sovereignty of Nagaland shall be defended at all COSTS.
3. Any, attempt to betray the National policy or attempt to deviate from the National Right and stand or any compromise with the opposing forces in the issue of National or Organisation shall be doomed as treason.
On Condemnation of Shillong Accord:
1. The sovereign existence or Nagaland and sovereign Rights of the Naga people over their land are historically unquestionable facts and that the question of negotiation on India favour does not arise whatsoever. Therefore whatever may be the circumstances the people of Nagaland by no means be a part to any settlement that may entail the loss of the Right of sovereign existence.
2. Therefore any talk or any negotiations tending to be WITHIN INDIAN UNION are unequivocally the works of hidden TRAITORS and the traitors IN NO WAY REPRESENT THE PEOPLE.
3. NO ONE IN WTHATEVER NAME OR CAPACITY HAS THE POWER OR AUTHORITY TO SETTLE THE INDO —NAGA ISSUE WITHIN THE INDIAN UNION.
4. Nagas refused to be buried alive together with the Shillong Accord. To us, the sovereignty existence of our country, the salvation of our people in Christ is eternal and unquestionable. Therefore, here I would like to mention that the first point of Shillong Accord was to accept, without condition, the constitution of India. As a patriot and freedom fighter I reluctantly ask what the first point of 3rd Aug.2015 Framework Agreement is. Is it going to be like a beam in your eye and a tiny speck in the eyes of Shillong Accord? It is superfluous on my part to express my deep concern about the F.A. as it conceal the fate and future of the Nagas and the Nagas have every right to know about their future.
The question of shared sovereignty: In the words of Y.M. Upadhyay when the talk ended with a positive note between the Delegation of DRGN of the GOI, Mrs. Indra Gandhi, then the Prime Minister of India was immensely happy and assured the Delegation that India as a Nation would share its sovereignty with the Nagas and that the Nagas need not fear of being deprived of anything, This shared sovereignty is what Nagas are experiencing now. Nagas will not accept shared sovereignty as it would he subversion of Indian constitution which clearly states that sovereignty is INDIVISIBLE. Truthfully the Nagas do not believe that India would amend its formidable constitution to restrict her sovereignty for Indo—Naga settlement.
Lastly I call upon the responsible Nagas to denounce the words inclusive or exclusive. These words are highly discriminatory and disheartening. Let us see the views of Naga I-10HO which defines thus –"Nagas are one and there is no question of who are Nagas and who are not Nagas "It amply implies that no Nagas should be excluded or included. All Nagas are there fighting together for common cause. Let there be no category of big or small sacrifices as all life are equally precious. A good day will come only when we change the mindset of classification. Change will come only when all the Nagas are united and trusting in God should be our ultimate strength. I am tempted to write that God may have has his plan for delaying the promulgation of Framework Agreement. Let us make use of God given time to set right all the things that are wrong. Imagine the severity of outcome of our blunder for the motherland if what is wrong and objectionable cannot be corrected before it is too late. Do it now. Don't wait for tomorrow for tomorrow may not be ours. Let us welcome proper and sound criticism for our future and the Naga Nation. Live or perish Nagas will not live under bondage of any country. Nagas self determination is our birthright and the Final settlement will be FREEDOM. They can take our lives but not our freedom.
