Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Speaker Dr. Imtiwapang Aier today made an obituary reference on the floor of the House on the passing away of ex-IBM late Hepong Phom. As an elected member of Interim body in the early 1960’s, late Hepong Phom served from 1961-1963 during the transitional period of Nagaland. He was brave and idealistic, sincere and devoted who worked tirelessly for the formation of the state of Nagaland. On his passing away, the state has lost a prominent leader, the Speaker said. The House observed two minute silence as a sign of respect to the departed soul.
