Guwahati, July 21 (MExN): In a meeting held at the official residence of the Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly, Biswajit Daimary, Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) and President of the North East Regional Institute for Parliamentary Studies, Training & Research (NERIPSTR), engaged in discussions to improve the accessibility and effectiveness of NERIPSTR.

The discussions focused on making NERIPSTR's resources and training programs more widely available to both parliamentarians and the general public. This initiative aims to enhance the understanding of legislative processes and promote broader engagement in legislative activities.

NERIPSTR has been instrumental in providing research and training to parliamentarians and officers of state legislatures. Both speakers emphasized the importance of extending these resources to benefit a wider audience, thereby fostering a deeper understanding of legislative functions.

The meeting also addressed the upcoming 21st Annual CPA India Region Zone-III Conference, scheduled to be held in Aizawl, Mizoram. Both speakers acknowledged the significance of this conference in promoting regional cooperation and strengthening the capabilities of legislative bodies across the zone.

Longkumer reiterated his commitment to working closely with Daimary and other speakers from the North East to ensure that NERIPSTR continues to serve as a vital resource for legislative training and research.
