Dimapur, February 4 (MExN): On the occasion of 29th Raising Day of Spear Corps on February 4, Lt Gen SL Narasimhan, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps extended warm greetings and best wishes to all ranks, civilians and families of the Spear Corps. He also paid homage to “the valiant soldiers who fearlessly and selflessly made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.”
Headquarter 3 Corps was raised on February 4, 1985 and has “since been ensuring the sanctity of our international borders and spearheading the counter insurgency operations in the North East,” said Lt Col E Musavi, PRO (Defence) Kohima in a press release. “Our relentless counter insurgency operations, coupled with social responsibility and humane approach towards the local populace, has resulted in a vastly improved security situation and infrastructural development in the region,” the release quoted Lt Gen SL Narasimhan as saying.
Lt Gen SL Narasimhan also urged the people of northeast to ensure peace that will bring greater prosperity to the region. Further, he appealed to all ranks of Spear Corps to maintain highest standards of integrity, discipline and concern for the people of northeast.
