Special Assistant to CM of Nagaland passes away

Kohima, May 20 (MExN): The Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Nagaland and the General Secretary of the NDPP, Kuovisieo Rio has passed away on Friday at Oking Hospital, Kohima. Kuovisieo was also VDB Secretary of Touphema Village. His funeral service will be held at Tuophema village at 1:00 pm. 

Following his demise, CM Neiphiu Rio in a condolence messages said, “We have shared close bonds since the time of my father and he has always been a close part of the family for decades. He was a brother, a confidant and a loyal supporter. His passing away is a personal loss to me and my family and we are at a loss to express our sorrow.”

“I place on record the appreciation of the State Government for the contributions he has made to the Chief Minister's Office in the service of the State,” Rio stated. 

“In this hour of bereavement, I, along with my wife and family members extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family members. It is my humble prayer that Almighty God will grant them strength and courage to bear the irreparable loss,” Rio conveyed. 

Abu Metha, Adviser to Chief Minister in a condolence note said Kuovisieo was a fine gentleman who had a cheerful and jovial personality. He always brought cheer and happiness wherever he was. His most appreciable quality was his constant keenness to help and assist others. 

“I have never seen him shy away from helping others in all my years of knowing him. He never had any ill-feeling towards anybody. Kouvisieo was a person you could rely on. He would always get the job done,” Abu said. 

He also said that Kouvisieo’s demise is a great loss for the Party, the people of the area and to all of us as he had the capability to make so much more contributions. “We will all miss him terribly in the Chief Minister's Office, the Party and in the various organisations where he provided leadership. His passing away is also a great personal loss as he was a close friend, an elder brother and a wonderful colleague,” Abu said while conveying condolence to the members of the bereaved family.

The officers and staff at the Chief Minister's Office in a condolence message said, “We are overwhelmed by the news of his sudden demise and we wish to express our empathy to you at this difficult and sad moment.”

“We have closely associated with Kuovisieo Rio, and in this short period of our interaction with him, he had always been accommodating and exuded a pleasant demeanour and positivity to all. He was fair in his dealing with everybody and we will dearly miss his presence. In his demise, we lose a dear friend, a close confidante and a colleague we will always hold dear,” they added.

Meanwhile, the Nagaland Contractors & Supplies Union (NCSU) also expressed deep shock on the he sudden demise of Kuovisieo Rio. He was a bona fide member of NCSU, a successful first Class Contractor and a dynamic leader. In his early departure the Union in particular and the people of Nagaland in general have great lost and difficult to filled. He was a man of principle, kind hearted, hard working, dedicated, the Union stated.
