Mon, August 8 (DIPR): Chairman DPDB Mon N. Thongwang convened a special DPDB meeting on August 6 at DC’s conference hall and approved the Local Area Development Fund (LADF) 2016-17 of Mon District.
The Chairman appealed to the officers and members to give suggestions to the proposed schemes and projects submitted by the elected members under LADF if there are any lapses. He apprised the house on various projects taken up under the common pool and other development projects initiative by him in the district.
Deputy Commissioner, Mon W. HonjeKonyak also urged the officers to give feedbacks and suggestions if any objections are found for rectification of the projects submitted by the elected members. After reading out the proposed projects of the 9 Assembly Constituencies of Mon, Honje suggested to seek technical supervision of the respective departments for proper execution of the projects. He also asserted to identify and mention the specific locations of the proposed projects which are lacking in some projects. Therefore, he urged the Planning Department to consult the technical experts of the respective departments for proper implementation of projects.
MLA Pohwang said that the projects under LADF were arranged according to the norms and guidelines of the Planning Department. Therefore, he said that major projects could not be implemented under the LADF and apprised the members to give good suggestions to the Planning Department for rectification of the present norms.
The house after lengthy discussion on pros and cons of the projects and finally approved the LADF 2016-17 of Mon District.
