Special grants to six backward tribe students

Kohima, June 30 (MExN): The Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA) will be providing special grants to students belonging to the six designated backward tribe students namely Chang, Khiamniungan, Konyak, Phom, Sangtam and Yimchungru who passed out HSLC in 2016 from schools located in four districts of Tuensang, Mon, Longleng and Kiphire and whose parents are permanent residents of the four districts.  

This scheme is only for orphans or children of farmers or students who come from economically poor background. Children of fixed pay or work charge employees of state government can also apply.  

Eligible students who have passed the qualifying examination with minimum mark of 55% and above can apply. Forms may be collected from the Directorate of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA), Nagaland, Kohima near Kohima DC’s office. Last date of submission of form to the Directorate is 12. 8. 2016. This was stated in a release issued by K.S. Anden Konyak, director, Underdeveloped Areas, Nagaland, Kohima.
