Special health camp benefits 42 children, 15 seniors in Kiphire

Kiphire, July 31 (MExN): As part of the SAATHI (Survey for Aadhaar and Access to Tracking & JAGRITI-Justice Awareness for Grassroots Information and Transparency Initiative) Campaign, the Kiphire District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), in collaboration with the District Hospital, Kiphire, conducted a Special Health Camp for persons with disabilities on July 30.

As per the DIPR report, the programme was attended by children and senior citizens with disabilities from some of the most remote and underserved areas of the district. 

With the involvement and field-level support of Para Legal Volunteers, children under the age of 18 and senior citizens were identified and transported from distant villages such as Thanamir, Iponger, Moya, Fakim, and others - alongside their guardians. The camp was supervised by Holika Sukhalu, Secretary, DLSA, Kiphire.

During the camp, 42 children between the age of 2 and 18 and 15 Senior citizens underwent detailed medical screening. 

All beneficiaries and the process for issuing their respective Disability Certificate have been initiated and are currently underway, the DIPR report added. 

DLSA Kiphire has also initiated to help each child apply for their Unique Disability ID (UDID) Cards under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disability certificate.
