Special recruitment drive meeting inconclusive

Kohima, September 29 (MExN): The four tribal students bodies viz; Angami Students Union, Ao Students Conference, Kyong Students Union and Sumi Students Union (SKK) in a hurriedly convened press conference last night stated that their Wednesday’s meeting with home minister regarding the special recruitment drive (10 EAC post) for backward tribes was inconclusive. Terming the government decision as immature and ridiculous, the four organization said that they had a separate meeting after the meeting with the government on Wednesday wherein they have decided to stick to the earlier ultimatum submitted to government and go ahead with it boycotting examinations from October 3 and closure of all the four dist Headquarter administrative offices if their demand is not fulfilled by September 30. “Govt request us to revoke the ultimatum instead of listening to us which is the most regrettable,” the student leaders said. “We also like to send a clear message to all Nagas that were not against any community or tribe but against the policy of the government,” the four student bodies said.
