Dimapur, April 18 (MExN): The Inclusive Education Resource Persons (Special Teachers), who had been appointed under the ‘sanctioned post’ of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Nagaland have reportedly been not paid salary for a year (2017-18). According to a press release, the Special Teachers were posted to various Educational Resource Centres with an attachment to different schools after their appointment, but the teachers have been performing their duties without salary for a year now due to government’s failure to release it.
Asserting that the State should give priority to the Special Teachers when it is striving for Inclusive Education, the teachers have appealed to the competent authorities to release their monthly salaries regularly as it is done in the case of regular employees in Nagaland. The release pointed out how the teachers have been undergoing tremendous hardship to meet their daily needs.
The State government was urged to redress the grievances without delay to encourage the Special Teachers to be more sincere and dutiful.
