Dimapur, June 18 (MExN): The spirit of forgiveness and goodwill triumphed at the end, with the Zeliang community of Dimapur deeply appreciating the Mopungchuket Union Dimapur for showing ‘love and sympathy’ with regard to the killing of late S Tiasungtsung, who was knocked down and killed by a speeding motorist on June 15 last.
A note issued by three persons namely K Francis Zeliang, Hiekedaung Zeliang and Namdi Zeliang on behalf of the Zeliang community Dimapur, while appreciating the union, stated that the mother of the motorist, Kikonding Chitri son of Nchubemo Chitri of Pangti village, is from the Zeliang community.
Deep gratitude was expressed to the MUD for amicably settling the case in the spirit of forgive-and-forget.
“We the Zeliang community of Dimapur will never forget the love and affections shown to the accused families forgiven in the Christian spirit without any hesitation and reservation and no penalty were being imposed,” the note stated. The Naga communities were urged to follow the ‘kind practices’ of the Mopungchuket Union for unity and welfare of the Nagas in the near future.
It may be recalled that late S Tiasungtsung, who is the brother of Congress MLA Nungsangyapang, was knocked down and killed by a speeding motorbike on June 15 near the Supermarket area in Dimapur.
