Spl federal relationship focus of Amsterdam talks

Dimapur, DEC 2 (MExN): As reported the Government of India and NSCN (IM) will begin fresh talks Monday in Amsterdam with the talks expected to continue for at least two days. The agenda for the coming talks is being worked out in consultation with each other, it was informed.

Mention may be made that during talks in October, the NSCN (IM) had proposed ‘a special federal arrangement’ to enable the Nagas self-governance but the negotiations ended inconclusively.

According to NSCN (IM) sources, they are expecting that the parameters for the Amsterdam talks would be confined to this core issue of a special federal arrangement.

The NSCN-IM is seeking a separate Naga constitution under the special federal relationship that it has proposed.
