MDFA Trophy 2016 from Oct 4 Mokokchung, September 28 (MExN): The Mokokchung District Football Association’s (MDFA) Trophy 2016 will commence from October 4, Tuesday, at Imkongmeren Sports Complex. Nagaland Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, C. Apok Jamir, will be the Chief Guest at the inaugural. According to a press release from the MDFA, altogether 21 teams will compete in the tournament. Drawing of fixture for the MDFA Trophy 2016 will take place on September 29 at the residence of MDFA Treasure A. Bendang Jamir at Arkong Ward from 1:00 pm onward. Meanwhile, the MDFA has informed candidates interested in applying for Grade III Football Referee examination to submit their bio data to the MDFA office by October 5. The MDFA has also informed all the registered clubs that this year’s entry ticket selling contract has been awarded to Ungma Village Council. Peren Referees’ Assn meeting Peren, September 28 (MExN): In view of the 10th Peren District Legislators Football Trophy, a meeting of the Peren District Referees’ Association has been convened on October 3 at 10:00 am at the Administrative Rest House, Peren. A press release from the PDRA informing this has requested all its members and members of the Tournament Committee to attend the meeting positively. Issues regarding tournament venue and matters relating to the tournament will be deliberated, the release informed.
