SRSU annual general conference concludes

Dimapur, January 8 (MExN): Sakipheto Range Students’ Union (SRSU) three-day annual general conference held from January 4 to 6, hosted by Sakipheto Students Union at Sakipheto village concluded on Sunday evening.


A press release from SRSU stated that the Union flag was hoisted on the second day by the chief guest Tokihe Chishi, Rtd. Project Officer, I&C, President, Sakipheto Area Public Union who spoke on the theme ‘Passion meets purpose.’


Qhetovi Swu, ex president SRSU graced the inaugural session of the conference where he asked the students to be hard working and excel academically in order to be successful in life.


Thsuvisie Phoji, ADC, Medziphema on the second day felicitated the students who cleared their HSLC and HSSLC successfully and motivated the students with his speech.


Dr Hesheto Y Chishi, Director, Indigenous Cultural Society Nagaland & Research Expert UNESCO was the guest speaker. Speaking in the theme, Dr Chishi reminded the students to uphold the value of one’s own culture and tradition which is their true identity.


Mughaho Swu, Associate Pastor Youth, Diphupar A Sümi Baptist Church in the valedictory session inspired the students from his personal life experience to uphold the value of student’s life and to make the best use of it.


Kawoto Zhimomi, vice president, SAGB Union and Kakiho Awomi, President, WSSU also exhorted the students during the conference.


Competition of various indigenous games, sports, literary and cultural items were conducted during the conference which was attended by hundreds of students representing seven units of the Union.
