S.S Khaplang’s Letter is clear: GPRN/NSCN

The publication of S.S Khaplang’s letter in the local dailies has little or nothing to be interpreted or debated as the content clearly explains his political arrangement and status in Burma and his request to Nagas in the west not to disturb him. There may be some people who feel abandoned by S.S Khaplang and naturally they will attempt to explain the letter line by line no matter how awkward it is for them.

GPRN/NSCN President Gen. (Retd) Khole Konyak and Ato Kilonser N Kitovi Zhimomi, from the very inception of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) assured their commitment to the Naga people for Reconciliation, peace and Unity, strongly endorsing the Covenant of Reconciliation in which the then Chairman S.S Khaplang was a signatory. Nothing is more bizarre and absurd than to claim that Chairman Gen. (Retd) Khole and Gen Secy. N Kitovi Zhimomi were party to the recently published letter of S.S Khaplang. When S.S Khaplang was impeached by the National Tatar Hoho on 7th June 2011 and while the letter was written by S.S Khaplang on 21st August 2011, how could GPRN/NSCN collective leaders be a party to what S.S Khaplang wrote more than two months after he was impeached.

GPRN/NSCN believes that FNR should have declared the letter to the Naga people as soon as it reached for perhaps, the lives of many innocent public and patriots alike could have been saved since the stand of S.S Khaplang makes it clear that his followers in Nagaland should wage for peace and not war. Who is responsible for the loss of lives after 21st August 2011? S.S Khaplang was wise enough to wash his hands off Nagaland.

The name of S.S Khaplang should not be used anymore to create trouble in Nagaland. He has made his position crystal clear to the Naga people. The time to knock at the coffin is over. It is time to think about the common future.

MIP, GPRN/NSCN.
