SSA teachers unpaid for 5 months

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 8 (MExN): Despite assurances from the Nagaland State Government, the Nagaland Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers’ Association (NSSATA) 2010 & 2013 batch on Thursday said they have not been paid their salaries for the last five months- from June to October 2018.   A press release issued by the NSSATA said it has been patiently waiting for a positive and a permanent solution to end the grievances as per the agreement made with the Government of Nagaland in the presence of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) and the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF), on June 12, 2018.   The agreement included finding a mechanism for timely release of salaries and on the request of the department, the Association also pointed out that it had assisted at the Directorate for 24 (twenty-four) days i.e., right after discharging of school duties on weekdays as well as relinquishing holidays on non working days to speed up the process for the implementation of 7th RoP and timely release of the salaries. In spite of all these, the association lamented that they have not been paid for 5 months.   Therefore, the association have appealed the Government of Nagaland to release the pending salary at the earliest.
