DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 30 (MExN): Sainik School Punglwa organised a football championship for novice cadets from October 23 to 29 with an objective to encourage them to explore their talents in games and sports and to enable them to excel in the game they are good at.
The championship was played on knockout basis by six sections of classes 6 and 7. In the final match, class 7A defeated class 6C by 6 goals to nil and was crowned champions of the tournament. Keyiliagumbe was adjudged the best player of the championship.
Gp Capt Sharad R Keskar, the Principal of the school who graced the event as the Chief Guest congratulated the winners. In his short address, the Chief Guest encouraged the cadets to put in their best in the game and practise hard as the school shall groom the young players for Subroto Cup under 14 years of age.
