Sainik School Punglwa honoured Flight Lieutenant Obed Newmai and Lieutenant Hinoto Kakishe Yepthomi, both former cadets who got commissioned as officers.

Peren, March 15 (MExN): Sainik School Punglwa (SSP) in Nagaland on Friday held an event to welcome two of their cadets who got commissioned as officers. Flight Lieutenant Obed Newmai has been commissioned into Indian Air Force and Lieutenant Hinoto Kakishe Yepthomi, commissioned to Indian Army. ‘They are the first two Naga alumni and valiant officers,’ stated a press release issued by PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh.

Flight Lieutenant Newmai and Lieutenant Yepthomi delivered lectures to the young cadets, exhorting them to embrace the call of duty and consider a noble career in the Armed Forces. Their narrative traversed the corridors of time, recounting their formative years at SSP and the indelible lessons learned therein, the release stated.

They were presented with the school memento by the Principal as a token of their association with the school.
The Vice Principal on behalf of the Principal expressed gratitude to the alumni and lauded them for being inspirations to the young cadets of the school.
