Peren, November 26 (MExN): Sainik School Punglwa (SSP) XIII annual sports meet closing ceremony was held with Sandeep M Tamgade, IPS, ADGP (Law and Order), Government of Nagaland as the chief guest on November 26.
The event began with release of ‘Voice of the Young Warriors of the Morung’ (VYWOM) by the chief guest. The VYWOM is a half yearly newsletter of the cadets which showcases their creative expressions and different activities undertaken in the school, stated a press release received here.
Some of the highlights of the function were Mass PT, Flag Exercise, Music Yoga, Aerobic Display, Tableau and Gymnastics. The cadets displayed their skills in horse riding, skating, archery and cycling. The audiences were also enthralled by the display and music of the school band.
The Inter House final track events were organized where a total of eight houses; four each of the Junior category (Classes VII-IX) and Senior category (Classes X-XII) competed for the championship trophy. Competitions for100m, 200m, 400m and 4x100m rally were conducted for both the categories.
The chief guest gave away the medal and the trophy to the winners. The overall trophy for Inter House Athletic Meet for the junior category was lifted by Patkai House while the trophy for the Inter House Athletic Meet for the senior category was won by Doyang House.
