Peren, November 19 (MExN): The XX Local Board of Administration (LBA) meeting of Sainik School Punglwa was held on November 19. It was presided over by Maj Gen Pankaj Kaushik, COS 3 Corps and LBA Chairman.
The meeting was also attended by Pollem Tep, Additional Director and Nodal Officer, Directorate of Education; C Wangam EAC (DC Representative), Peren Dist; Er Pukrouvizo Kera, Superintendent Engineer, PWD (Housing); Er Kelechuto Pienyu, Executive Engineer PWD (H) Education Division; Dr LK Baishya Sr Scientist ICAR, Jharnapani; Menlom EAC (P) Jalukie and Er Kedovisie B Meyase, Parents representative and Col Rajesh Benda, Col GS (Edn), Lt Col M K Meitei, Administrative Officer, Sqn Ldr Sanjeev Chaudhary, Vice Principal.
SSP in a press release stated that this being his first visit to school, the General Officer was felicitated by Nodal Officer, Directorate of Education on behalf of all LBA members. During the meeting, the board members discussed and elaborated on major aspects pertaining to development of the school and academic standpoint.
Before the commencement of the meeting, the General Officer on his arrival was accorded with a guard of honour by the senior cadets of the school and he was briefed about the school by the Principal Gp Capt Sharad R Keskar. He visited the school’s Academic Block, Labs and Clubs houses, Capt Kenguruse Mess, Hostels area, Living quarters area, and ongoing construction site. He also interacted with the staff.
Post meeting, the LBA Chairman inaugurated the Waste Management and Vermi Compost plant which was newly constructed at the school location. Later, guest lunch was organised in honour of him. The General Officer while addressing the cadets expressed his gratefulness to be amongst the young and energetic cadets. He stated that the school despite its young vintage is doing well in academics and sanguine that cadets become great personalities in a high place in different walks of life.
