Kohima, September 6 (MExN): The Sangtam Students’ Union Kohima (SSUK) organized an Open Penalty Shootout Competition on September 6 at TM Ground, near Kohima College, beginning at 10:00 am.
The program started with a welcome address by Longtili C. Sangtam, President of SSUK, and was followed by an invocation prayer from Tsariba Sangtam, Youth Pastor of Sangtam Baptist Lithro Kohima.
A total of 29 teams participated in the competition, creating a lively atmosphere of energy and sportsmanship. After closely contested matches, Team Mez & Co secured the championship title, while Team Revo finished as the runners-up. The award for Best Keeper went to Sedekhotuo Sote for his performance. The competition was organized in connection with the Mungmung Festival get-together and also served as a fund-raising initiative for the upcoming Cultural Program scheduled for September 27 at the State Academy Hall, Kohima, along with other follow-up activities.
The Union conveyed gratitude to Sangtam Union Kohima, Sangtam Baptist Lithro Kohima, Sangtam Baptist Lithro Kohima Youth Ministry, all Sangtam Village and Area Unions Kohima, Eastern Nagaland Unions, the participating teams, donors, officials, and everyone who contributed towards making the event a success.
