St John’s College conducts program on  women’s hygiene and personal care

DIMAPUR, APRIL 23 (MExN): The Department of English, St John College in collaboration with Boditive held an awareness cum promotional program on ‘Women’s Hygiene and Personal Care’ in the college conference hall.

A press release issued by the St John College stated that the event was chaired by LimayunglaYaden, Asst. Professor, Department of English. She shared a brief introduction of Boditive, Nagaland’s first sanitary pad.

The program progressed with a presentation by Otoli, Asst. Professor, NECU. The presentation covered on the topics of various period issues, vaginal hygiene, ways to handle period cramps and menstruation friendly foods.

AvitoliYepthomi, MD of Mavi and Boditive, who is also a practicing dietician, talked about her experiences with period issues and her journey to launch Boditive sanitary pads. She also detailed about the two types of sanitary pads that Boditive currently produces. She said sanitary pads should become a fundamental right and not just a privilege for every woman. 

Dr. Inakali Assumi, HOD, Department of English, gave the vote of thanks. The event came to an end with the distribution of Boditive sanitary pad samples for the female students and faculty members.
