Dimapur, November 6 (MExN): Saint John’s High School Diphupar ‘B’ conducted its cultural fest cum talent show at the school premises on November 1 and 2. It was a two-day programme presided by the Teachers Tilraj, Rhonthungo and Jully. The event was attended by students and parents which proved to be an unforgettable occasion for all the enthusiastic students.
The class-wise event saw students showcasing their competitive spirit at St. John’s High School. A graceful traditional dance was performed by class IX girls at the Opening ceremony. The events of the two days long programme included scripture recitation, dazzling dances, mellifluous music, Beat boxing, extempore speech, drawing and poster making, solo competition, traditional and fancy dress competition followed by amazing performances from the tiny tots of St. John’s pre-nursery and nursery students. A debate competition was also held on the topic “Are social networking site a curse or a boon for the students” which was participated by students of class 9 and 10. It was very beneficial for the students as it prepares students to use their interpersonal skills and also share their knowledge. On the second day all the students and teachers came in traditional dress to school which was a new experience for the students.
In conclusion, the Headmaster ‘Mr. Johnny Abraham’ also delivered a valuable speech. In his speech he gave much importance to the need for arranging such an event. He encouraged the students for their laudable performance and thanked the teachers for their effortless contribution in making the event a successful one.
Everybody enjoyed the cultural event and highly appreciated the school authority for organizing such an event as the event revealed many aspects of our culture before the audience. It also helps in showcasing the versatility of the students.
