
Tuensang, April 22 (MExN): The Catholic Mission which includes St. Thomas Parish and St. John’s Hr. Sec. School, Tuensang celebrated the Golden Jubilee of St. John’s Hr. Sec. School, Tuensang with Most. Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima as the main Celebrant and His Grace Archbishop Dominic Lumon, Archbishop of Imphal as the guest of honour. The celebration is a three day event which will conclude on April 23.
Rev. Fr. Carolus Neisalhou, Vicar General of the Diocese of Kohima and 28 priests concelebrated the thanksgiving Holy Eucharist. Golden Jubilee Memorial Gate by Rev. Fr. P.C. Mani, first Parish priest, Slab for the Science Laboratory by Most. Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima and His Excellency Most Rev. Dominic Lumon, Archbishop of Imphal was also blessed and inaugurated. The golden jubilee souvenir, Chang prayer book (Welau le) and the article ‘Towards a relevant Chang Catholic Church’ written by Rev. Fr. Benjamin were released on the occasion. Koma Yangbou, representing the Managing Board applauded the Catholic Missionaries. EAC Longeleng spoke on behalf of the Alumi Changsang.
During the felicitation programme, Bishop James Thoppil addressed the gathering and Rev. Mathew Keemattam read the bible passage with invocation prayer by Rev. Fr. Carolus Neisalhou, Vicar General of the Diocese of Kohima. Rev. Fr. P.J. Thomas presented the Obituary. There were also beautiful Jubilee Choir piece, different dances, and cultural items presented by the students on the occasion. Speeches were given by Rev. Fr. Mani, 1st Parish Priest and Principal of SJHSS, Tuensang.
