St. Joseph Catholic Church observes thanksgiving mass

Viswema, December 20 (MExN): St. Joseph Catholic Church, Viswema observed a thanksgiving mass on Sunday to “commemorate the graciousness of the Lord and warm response from well wishers in showing solidarity and blessing the community on the recently concluded joyous occasion, thus exhilarating the spirit of Jubilee to a meaningful celebration.”   A press release from Information & Publicity Committee of the jubilee informed that the community gratefully cherished the manifold blessings and unceasing providence of the almighty. “The various factors that nurtured and sustained the church to this stage are the Jesuits fathers and their scholastics, who never felt exhausted for the spiritual need of the church, with the support of the Diocese, some local evangelists from neighbouring Villages and the Bethany Sisters tending and dwelling among them,” it was stated.

The thanksgiving mass was officiated by Rev. Fr. Immanuel SJ, where he invited the gathering to gratefully recall the graciousness of the Lord for the past 50 years and to strive to be better Christians. The service was presided over by Rukuvito Peter, President, Catholic Union Viswema and the thanksgiving message was delivered by Nosazol Charles, Chairman, Jubilee Organising Committee. Charles highlighted different programmes organized to prepare for the jubilee in the past years.
