A special talk on women empowerment with Dr Theyiesinuo Keditsu as the guest speaker was held on March 17.

Chümoukedima, March 17 (MExN): The Internal Complaints Committee of St Joseph University, Chümoukedima in collaboration with the Institution Innovation Council, organised a special talk on women empowerment with Dr Theyiesinuo Keditsu as the guest speaker on March 17.

The event aimed to highlight the importance of empowering women, particularly Naga women, and its crucial role in fostering social and cultural progress, SJU stated in a press release.

Reflecting on this year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Accelerate Action,” Dr Keditsu called for both men and women to work together toward empowering one another, starting from household environments to larger public spaces.

“The empowerment of women should start from the simplest spaces, like the kitchen, and expand to the broader arenas of society,” she noted in her speech.

She encouraged the students-both male and female-to take action and make a conscious effort to support each other in achieving equality, whether in academic or social settings.

The event was moderated by Dr Bendangnaro, Department of Botany. The session began with welcome address by Dr Amrita Difusa, Department of Biotechnology and concluded with vote of thanks by Lucy N Ngullie, Department of Physics.
