NEW DELHI, JUNE 8 (MExN): St. Joseph University (SJU), Nagaland, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), an independent policy think tank under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, to promote joint academic and research initiatives.
The MoU was formalized during the International Conference on “Global South and Triangular Cooperation: Emerging Facets,” held in New Delhi on June 3–4. It marks a step forward in collaborative research and academic engagement between RIS and 23 universities from across India.
Professor Sachin Chaturvedi, Director General of RIS, and Dr. Moameren Pongen, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at St. Joseph University, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.
The MoU outlines a framework for collaboration in key areas including joint research, faculty exchange, seminars and conferences on global economic issues, climate change, and development finance. It also envisions joint publications, dissemination of research, and the exchange of scholarly materials to build academic and institutional capacity.
University officials said the partnership will not only enhance research capabilities but also contribute to regional development through informed policymaking and knowledge sharing.
