Dimapur: DTCC Dimapur conducted anti-tobacco awareness program at St Mary’s School Padum Pukhuri on Thursday. Around 500 students from Class VIII to X participated in the program in 3 batches. A press release informed that Dr. C Tetseo, District program officer, National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) gave PowerPoint presentation on the harmful effects of tobacco. Sister Lincy Sebastian, Principal of the school advised the students never to pick up tobacco habit and also led the students in taking anti tobacco pledge. She assured that the school will adopt Tobacco free school guidelines. According to Dr C tetseo, the DTCC team had conducted awareness program in several schools in Purana Bazaar and Tuluvi area during the week. He has encouraged other schools to come forward and adopt tobacco free school guidelines.
