St Paul institute stages “Annie the Orphan”

Phesama, August 1 (MExN): Teacher Trainees of St Paul Institute of Education, Phesama staged its annual musical play. This year it was “Annie the Orphan”.  

Edited and directed by Rev. Bro. Melwyn SJ, Rev. Fr. Boniface D Souza SJ and Rev. Fr. Gideon SJ.  It is based on an orphan girl who starts her life in a state run orphanage. Later frees herself to start a new life with the help of a millionaire. A combination of wits and similes with typical American language gave the audience a taste of classical plays.  

Musical is part of the yearly activities of the institute. The purpose is to develop dramatic skills which are necessary for every teacher. Apart from this it also trains them in organization and planning and develops their confidence level.  

C Sazo, speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly graced the occasion as chief guest. In his address he elaborated the challenges faced by the teachers. He also highlighted characteristics required for a good and committed teacher.
