Wokha, January 20 (MExN): Phiro village Baptist Church under Wokha district is all set for celebration of 100 years during January 2026.
To mark the event, daughters of Phiro village residing at Dimapur, Kohima and Wokha districts who are married with the sons of other villages constructed a staff quarter in the proximity of Phiro Baptist Church and gifted to Phiro Baptist Church on January 19, stated a DIPR report.
The concept of constructing a staff quarter for Phiro Baptist Church to commemorate the upcoming centenary jubilee celebration came up during 2019 and after deliberation with Phiro Baptist Church Pastor and Board of Deacons, the married daughters of Phiro village residing at Dimapur , Kohima and Wokha districts decided to construct a centenary memorial staff quarter. Construction works which commenced during March 2024 was completed during November 2024.
The fully furnished staff quarter consisting of two bedrooms with washrooms attached, a sitting room and a kitchen was dedicated by Rev Thungjanshio, Pastor, Phiro Baptist Church on January 19, in the presence of Phiro Baptist Church officials and daughters of Phiro village who came all the way from Dimapur, Kohima and Wokha along with their spouse and children.
