Kohima, November 21 (MExN): The stage is all set for 6th Kohima district open volleyball tournament 2018 (Men & women) under the aegis of Kohima District Volleyball Association (KDVA), starting from November 22 at Kohima Local Ground, Khuochiezie with the theme “Transcending through sports.”
Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) administrator Kovi Meyase will grace the inaugural function on November 22 at 10:00 AM.
The function will be chaired by organizing committee convenor Hulie Belho while welcome address will be delivered by KDVA president Visasielie Suohu.
Technical director Mhalevilie Kere will administer oath to the participating teams.
Altogether, 20 teams (16 men and 4 women) will join the tournament.
All the participating teams have been asked to attend the inaugural function compulsorily.
The champion in men category will fetch a cash prize of Rs. 35,000 while the runner- up will receive Rs. 25,000.
Losing semi finalists will receive Rs. 5000 each.
In women’s category, the champion will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 while the runner-up will get Rs. 15,000. Losing semi finalists will get Rs. 5000 each.
Individual prizes for best spiker and best setter in both men and women category will get Rs. 2000 each.
The tournament will go on till November 26.
