Kohima, February 22 (MExN): During the starred question hour on the second day of the Assembly session on February 22, Yitachu, MLA asked the Minister-in-charge of CAWD to furnish the names and place of all the administrative office and GA Rest house in the state under construction and give details of the amount earmarked against each work during 2018-2019. Replying to the starred question, CM Neiphiu Rio and Minister in Charge of CAWD said that GA guest rest house were constructed in Mokokchung, Akuluto, Sakshi, Khuza, Satoi, Aboi, Changtonya, Dhansaripar, Nuiland, Pfutsero, Zuketsa, V.K. Town, Tuli, Chessore, Wakching, Khonsa, Meluri and Sanis. He further commented that other works will be taken up as per the provision availability, stated a DIPR report.
Chotisuh Sazo, MLA questioned the Minister in-charge of Tourism on the total expenditure for hornbill festival 2018 and mini hornbill festivals on which the Minster replied that the total expenditure was Rs 800.2 lakh. And the district wise expenditure the total allocation was Rs 250 lakh out of which Rs 150 lakh expenditure and total balance is Rs 100 lakh, replied the Minister.
Dr Imtiwapang Aier, MLA questioned the Minister of Forest on the total revenue generated by the Forest Department and its utilization for the year 2018-19 and also the details of activities initiated to protect the environment from global warming. CM Chang, Minister Environment, Forest & Climate Change said the total revenue of the department is Rs 6,42,64,926 and the revenue collected is remitted to the government treasury under the following heads: Revenue, house tax and professional tax and that the revenue is not utilized by the department. On the activities to protect the environment from global warming he said that the department has designated a nodal department on climate change. The Nagaland state action plan has been approved by the government of India in 2014. He also said that the department has carried out plantation activities and has also initiated community conservation areas across the state to encourage to preserve compact forest areas.
Imkong L Imchen, MLA asked the Leader of the House to clarify whether Lok Sabha MP, Tokheho Yepthomi voted against or in favour of the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016 on January 8, 2019 on which the Chief Minister replied that the CMO does not keep record of voting in the Lok Sabha and added that the statement made by the Lok Sabha in this matter is already in public domain.
Replying to Kuzholuzo Nienu, MLA on whether the amount of Rs 96 Crore allocated by HPC to meet backlog of VDBs GIA 2014-15, 15-16 & 2017- 18 has been released to all the 11 Districts, the Minister-in-charge of Rural Development said that it has been allocated.
Responding to MLA, CL John on the total number of MBBS & BDS seats allocated to the state in the last 3 years, Minister for Health & Family Welfare stated that a total of 159 MBBS and 36 BDS seats were allocated. On increase in the number of seats, the Minister said that 3 additional seats were allocated during 2018-19.
Minister in-charge of Home, Patton replied to MLA, Dr Chumben Murry on the proposal to create a police outpost in Wozhuro under Wokha district said that the proposal was sent to the Government on 30.05.2016. However, the Government conveyed that post creation is not possible and to re-submit the proposal as to how the police outpost can be manned without post creation. Replying to MLA, Yitachu on the number of Government High School in the state, the Minister-in-charge of School Education, Temjen Imna Along stated that there are 246 GHS in the state. On GHS without HM and both HM & AHM, the Minister said that there are 38 GHS without HM and 32 GHS without both AM & AHM. He also stated that rationalization of HM and AHM is under process.
Replying to MLA, Er Picto Shohe on the status of upgration of Khelhoshe Polytecnic Atoizu, Temjen Imna Along sated that AICTE guideline and Regulation, accreditation from National Board of Accreditation (NBA) New Delhi is mandatory for upgradation of existing diploma programme to degree course. In this regard, the Directorate of Technical Education and the Institute (KPA) are jointly working for getting accreditation from NBA. The process of upgradation from diploma to degree course will be initiated only after getting accreditation from NBA, New Delhi.
On the present status of Tiru police out-post, Naginimora, Deputy Chief Minister & In-charge Minister (Home) replied that there is no police outpost at Tiru, however, a new police station was created there.
