This was one among six resolutions passed by the NTUCT’s executive council at a meeting held on June 28 at the CTC Hall. In one resolution, it “strongly re-affirmed” to implement its 10-point resolution passed at a public rally in 2017 “against the rampant influx of IBIs and their misdeeds against the Nagas.”
“The House resolved to implement them in letter and spirit,” stated the resolution signed by Akato Sumi, Sessional Secretary and Joint Secretary of NTUCT.
While commending itself on its “ongoing prohibition of illegal IMFL and banned substances,” the NTUCT resolved to “maintain consistency in its fight against the social evils and menaces with more concerted efforts and vigours.”
Further, the Union “reserved the right to stop and frisk any suspected vehicles ferrying unaccounted amount of banned liquor and substances within the perimeter of its jurisdiction.”
“The so called syndicate operatives are hereby warn in advance to stop their nefarious trade. It was the unanimous voice of the NTUCT members that any national workers no matter how big and powerful, and state police officials running such a racket in connivance with bottlegers shall be publicly exposed.” It also resolved to “form a committee for procurement of new site for Naga Cemetery since the present one is almost filled” and entrusted a Committee to “select a suitable site, negotiate the price and also find out ways and means to avail financial assistance.”
Finally, it resolved to “have a consultative meeting with the leaders of Muslim community as well as the office bearers of CCCTA for issues of common interest.”
