State Adoption Resource Agency unveils mural to mark International Adoption Month

A mural on promotion of legal adoption was unveiled to commemorate International Adoption Month in Kohima on November 25.

Dimapur, November 25 (MExN): The State Adoption Resource Agency, Nagaland under the Department of Social Welfare observed ‘International Adoption Month’ alongside the observation of International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25.

On the occasion, chief guest for the programme K Mhathung Tsanglao, Joint Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Department of Social Welfare, officially unveiled mural art works on promotion of legal adoption.

According to a press release from the SARA Programme Manager Renchumi Imti, November is celebrated as International Adoption Month and Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) being the nodal body for the adoption under the Juvenile Justice (Care & protection of Children) Act, 2015 is observing the adoption month in all over the states. State Adoption Resource Agency, Nagaland  being the state level monitoring agency under CARA to promote and regulate adoption  also participated by observing the adoption month  on the theme ‘Promotion of Legal Adoption’ with the rest of the countries.

The event was organised by the Department of Social Welfare at Directorate Conference Hall, Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland, Kohima.
