State BJP bids adieu to North East in-charge

DIMAPUR, MARCH 19 (MExN): The Nagaland State BJP Unit organized a Farewell programme for the outgoing North Eastern States Organisational Secretary, P. Chandrashekar Rao at Hotel Saramati Dimapur on March 19. Speaking on the occasion, Tapir Gao, National General Secretary and BJP in-charge for Nagaland said that Chandrashekar Rao will be an ambassador for the North Eastern States in Delhi. “He has vast experiences on the issues pertaining to NE regions and a man full of energy,” he stated.

Recalling the past leaders like P.B. Acharya, V.Satish and P.Chandrashekar; Tapir Gao stated that they are the “messengers for BJP who has spread the importance of Nationalism and the nature of discipline practices in the party organization.”

Rao in his farewell speech said that the people of the North East regions are very “emotional, sentimental, friendly and aggressive in nature but a loveable people.” He said that the Nagas are most talented in their command of English. He said that his visit to Eastern Nagaland regions like Mon, Tuensang, Kiphire and Longleng was the most informative and unique experience. He added that during the visit, while interacting with Naga village leaders, he was impressed with the “fighting spirit of the Nagas with affirmative nature to safeguard the pride of Nagas.”

A press note by the BJP, Nagaland stated that during Rao’s stint as NE organizational Secretary, various central leaders like Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, LK Advani and Nitin Gadhkari could visit the interior parts of the NE.  It also added that long term initiatives like the NE Sampark cell, North East security policy, NE vision document for 2005 etc were undertaken for the welfare of the people..

The Programme was chaired by State President, Dr M.Chuba Ao and the invocation was pronounced by Nikhevi Yetho, BJP Dimapur District.  The State President Dr M.Chuba Ao lamented that during the Goodwill Mission to Bangalore, the Karnatka Chief Minister has assured to the visiting team that a Rest House would be constructed for the North East people staying at Bangalore. The President appealed for the outgoing organizational Secretary to extend his help in fulfilling the task in the near future.
