State COVID-19 tally rises to 590

Dimapur, July 5 (MExN): With 27 new positive cases reported in Nagaland, the total number of persons who have tested positive for the virus in the state touched 590 on Sunday.


Out of the new cases, 10 were reported from Peren, Dimapur reported 12, Tuensang reported 2 new cases while Kohima, Zunheboto and Mokokchung districts reported 1 case each. 


The number of active cases in the state has now reached 359.


On the other hand, 3 patients ‘recovered’ from the disease on July 5, taking the total number of recoveries to 231.


The recoveries were reported from Zunheboto district, as per the daily bulletin from the Department of Health and Welfare, Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme. 


The state has not witnessed any COVID-19 related deaths so far.


As per official updates, all the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals. As per the severity of symptoms, 358 active cases are asymptomatic and 1 active case is in mild category.


 
Highest number of active cases in Peren
Among the districts, Peren now has the highest number of active cases at 167 while Kohima has 76, as per the Bulletin.


Dimapur district has 41 active cases while Mon has 42. Tuensang has 22 active cases while Phek’s tally remained at 8.  Mokokchung district has 2 active cases while Zunheboto has 1.
