DIMAPUR, JANUARY 30 (MExN): The Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) held a general meeting on January 27 at Hotel Saramati with its affiliated members. All the unions and welfare committee members associated with DCCI attended the meeting and shared their grievances and experiences in their line of work.
According to a press release issued by DCCI media cell, the house was of the opinion that there should be a healthy competition in the business environment and not that of a syndicate system, which is corrupting the whole business community, mostly affecting educated unemployed youths.
In the meeting, the issue of multiple taxations was extensively deliberated. It was revealed that the DCCI has been all along highlighting this issue but till now it has not received any positive either from the district administration or the state government, leaving Dimapur to be infested by this multiple taxation virus.
To this extent, DCCI has requested the Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) for its support in any follow-up action by DCCI, as and when required.
The house also resolved that illegal businesses practices will not be supported and action shall be taken even if those running illegal businesses are bona-fide members of DCCI.
Further, DCCI cautioned that it shall not entertain MRP checking and other side by any organization, except by the concerned authority of the state government.
In the meeting, the house encouraged and reassured their continuous support to the DCCI.
In his presidential address, Akashe Zhimomi highlighted the achievements and works done by DCCI in the past years. The meeting was chaired by Omega Yepthomi, convenor of Grievances Cell, while DCCI vice president, V Shikuto Sema, delivered the vote of thanks.
