Kohima, January 30 (DIPR): Directorate of Higher Education organized a farewell programme in honour of its outgoing Director, Chubatola Longkumer on January 30 at the directorate’s conference hall.
In her speech, Chubatola expressed it was a day of counting God’s blessing and thanked God for her years of service to the people. Stating that Higher Education has lots of challenges, he said academic expansion is the most important and hoped that the challenges will be met under the new Director. She also called on the principals, offices and staffs of the department to continue working for the betterment of the students and to focus on the younger students who will one day be leaders.
Congratulating Chubatola, Parliamentary Secretary for Higher & Technical Education, Deo Nukhu said that many do not reach the level of HoD and that she should give thanks to God for giving her good health to attain superannuation. He encouraged her to continue her contributions to the society stating that a new chapter in her life has begun. He termed Chubatola as punctual and a dedicated officer.
The Parliamentary Secretary also welcomed the incoming Director, I. Alempokba and hoped that the department will continue achieving greater heights.
Principal of Mt. Tiyi College, Wokha, Dr. Apeni Lotha and Additional Director, Higher Education, I. Alempokba also gave short speeches at the function. The programme was chaired by Secretary, Higher & Technical Education, Imjung M. Panger. A special song was also presented by the officers and staffs of Higher Education.
