
Kohima, October 25 (MExN): The State Level Kala Utsav 2024-25, organised by Samagra Shiksha Nagaland (SSN), was held on October 24, at SIRD Kohima.
The flagship programme of the Department of School Education and Literacy (DSE&L), Ministry of Education (MoE), aims to foster and showcase the artistic talents of secondary-stage students. The Kala Utsav serves as annual platform for students to explore and celebrate the arts and cultural diversity at various levels—school, district, state, and national, as per a press release.
Among others, it seeks to initiate a comprehensive process of identifying, exploring, understanding, practising, evolving, and showcasing students’ artistic talent, it added.
Speaking at the formal event, Wonthungo Tsopoe, Director of School Education, emphasised the importance of cultural values for students. State Mission Director of SSN, Temsunaro Aier, also addressed the gathering, highlighting how the Kala Utsav initiative is a vital platform for showcasing the rich heritage and culture of Nagaland.
Officials from the Directorate of School Education, SSN, and DEO Kohima attended the programme, which featured participation from district winners in various competitions.
Following are the winners in respective categories and they will represent Nagaland at the National Level Kala Utsav 2024 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, scheduled for January 2025.
