The state power department and NEEPCO, DHEP, Doyang today organized a state level painting competition on energy conservation as part of National Campaign on Energy Conservation-2018 under the aegis of Ministry of Power, Government of India here at East Gate Hotel, Kohima.
The winners of this competition will represent the state at the forthcoming National level painting competition at Delhi on December 12.
Gracing the function, Labour Commissioner N. Air emphasized on three types of conservation of energy; electricity, fuel and LPG and called upon the participants to conserve energy wisely and contribute good to environment.
PB Das, head of project, NSDA said the students from Nagaland state have been performing exceptionally well in the painting competition in the past years competing at the National Level.
“It is imperative that everyone do their part to educate themselves as much as they can when it comes to learning about energy conservation and applying the knowledge they acquire to everyday life and also spread the message to everyone,” Das said.
In category A, the 1st position was bagged by Zaara Abdul, class V, Hope Academy School Dimapur, 2nd position Ankit Dutta Class VI from St. Mary's Higher Secondary School, Dimapur and the 3rd position Dhani Poddar, class VI of Hope Academy School Dimapur.
In category B, the 1st position Sashimeren Imchen, class IX, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kohima, 2nd position Supolepden Kichu class (ix) Fernwood school, Kohima and 3rd position Rishita Deka class (ix) Livingstone foundation higher secondary shoool, Dimapur.
