Kohima, September 17 (MExN): The Directorate of School Education in Kohima was the venue for the State Level Quiz Competition 2024, organized by Samagra Shiksha Nagaland under the Rashtriya Aviskar Abhiyan (RAA).
The event took place today and was honored by the presence of Er. Kethorietuo Kesiezie, UAV Engineer at Nagaland GIS & Remote Sensing, who attended as the special guest.
During his address, Kesiezie delivered a presentation on Drone and Artificial Intelligence (AI). He elaborated on how these technologies are revolutionizing the state, including their roles in medical emergencies, landscape mapping, road and traffic monitoring, and everyday applications through the Nagaland GIS & Remote Sensing Centre. He urged students to embrace these technologies, highlighting their significant potential for the future.
Kelhikha Kenye, Deputy Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, welcomed the participants and congratulated them for their achievements in advancing from district-level to the state-level competition. Kenye also acknowledged the efforts of teacher escorts in supporting the students' participation.
The event was chaired by Dr. Chumbeni Kikon, Joint Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha and Programme Officer. Dr. Kikon provided an overview of the competition, which is aimed at elementary level students from government schools, with funding from the Ministry of Education, Government of India. She encouraged students to cultivate a scientific temper and a passion for learning.
Dr. Bijano Murry, Joint Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha, served as the quiz master, while Smti. Visetonuo, Assistant Director at the Directorate of School Education, and Shri. Nongosal John Kiso, PGT Physics at GHSS Kigwema, were the judges.
The competition saw participation from a total of 12 districts. The winners of the State Level Quiz Competition 2024 are as follows: 1st Position: Kamrila from Kiphire District; 2nd Position: Sonen Choba from Tuensang District; and 3rd Position: Nashe Mounyu from Mon District
